Close a table, area or zone

To close off tables or zones so customers can't automatically book them on a particular date or day, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Settings.

  2. Click Sites then select a site.

  3. Click Close Areas, then click Add Another.

  4. Enter the details:

    • Type of area:

      • Table/Area: Select the tables or areas.

      • Zone: Select a zone.

    • Close by date or weekday:

      • Date: Select the close dates.

      • Weekday: Select the close days.

    • Select when the closure is for:

      • To close all day, select Close all day.

      • To close for specific times, enter the time from and to.

    • To give your staff information about why the area's closed, enter an admin message.

      • This shows to Access Collins users if they click the closed area or try adding bookings there.

  5. Click Save in the pop-up, then click Save on the main page.

📌Note: If you want to create a closed-off area running across two days, past midnight is a second day, you will need to create an additional rule for the following day, and end your first rule before midnight.

🤓Tip: For booking types associated with offline areas, there's no need to assign specific areas. These locations are excluded from the online booking process.

How to tell that a table, area or zone is closed

Once you've set an area as closed, the area in the diary and floorplan view is greyed out.

If you click the closed area, the admin message you entered appears in the table activity on the left side.

If another Access Collins user tries to add a booking to the closed area, the warning message also appears in the Add Booking panel, under Assign to Area.
