Linked booking types are a feature that allows guests to select multiple booking types consecutively.
Linked Booking Types is a feature that must be enabled by our support team for you to view it.
You can request all sites or just for specific sites. If you would like to enable this option, reach out to us.
Set up a linked booking type
Click Settings, Sites, and then choose your site.
Click Linked Booking Types from the left-hand menu.
Click Add Linked Booking Type.
Enter your Linked Booking Type's name, and the booking types it should include.
Click Add Booking Type.
You can also add a buffer before or after each booking type. Please note, linked booking types will already stop the customer from being able to book both booking types at the same time.
If you want your linked booking type to appear as a booking type on the booking widget, tick display as booking type.
Scroll down to the Bookings Policy section to enter the bookings policy for your linked booking type.
In the email section, you can enter an enquiry received message or booking confirmation message to be sent to guests for your linked booking type.
Click Save.
Adding your linked booking types to your widget
Your new linked booking type will not be automatically added to your existing booking widgets, so you will need to create a new booking widget that includes linked booking types. To do this:
Click Settings, Sites and then choose your site.
Click Booking widget & links from the left-hand menu.
Scroll down to the widget wizard.
Tick Enable Linked Booking Types.
When you have finished creating your booking widget, copy the code at the very bottom of the page, and send it over to your web developers who can embed it into your website.
Additional Information to note
Once this has been embedded into your website, customers will be able to make linked bookings.
A linked booking will appear as multiple bookings in Access Collins. This is so that each booking can be edited, followed up, or cancelled individually, without affecting the other booking types that are linked.
📌Note: To simplify the linked bookings process, Access Collins will only offer one duration for the booking type, even if your booking type can be of varying durations when booked on its own.
⚠️Warning: Please be aware that if one booking type in the linked booking requires card authentication and one booking type in the linked booking requires a payment, only the payment will be requested. As a result, the booking type that requires card authentication will not be auto-confirmed and will show as an enquiry.
To avoid this, please make sure that both bookings are set for the same type of customer payment.
If one of the bookings in the linked booking can't be auto-confirmed, then both bookings will be enquiries.
