Test your booking type rules to determine whether a booking can be auto-confirmed, marked as an enquiry, or checked for table availability.

The test booking rules feature allows you to check whether incoming bookings will be treated as enquiries or auto‑confirmed, and to verify if your venue has available space based on your table setup and current availability

Test your booking

Find any issues with the customer journey and ensure the rules you've set up work, as there can be various reasons depending on your settings.

To find the reason, test your booking rules by following the steps below:

  1. Click Help, then click Test booking rules.

  2. Enter the test booking rules:

    • Booking form: Select where the booking sits.

    • Site: If you have multiple venues, select the one you want.

    • Type: Select the booking type you want to make.

    • Guests: Enter the number of guests.

    • Date: Select a date.

    • Time: Select a time.

    • Duration: Select how long the booking is for.

  3. Click Can I Book?


Understand the feedback

The possible feedback is as follows:

Criteria

Details

All criterias met.

The booking would be accepted and autoconfirmed.

The criteria isn't met.

The booking would be accepted as an enquiry.

No availability at all.

A message displays advising that the booking would not be accepted.

Cover limit exceeded from Time X to Time Y.

In this case, you have to check the limit arrivals for:

  • General limit arrivals.

  • Booking type limit arrivals.

Booking can't continue: We are unable to take Booking type bookings on Specific date.

In this case, you have to check your availability for the specific booking type.
