Take deposits or payments on auto-confirm bookings

Make payments or deposits mandatory for auto-confirmed bookings at the point of booking.

⚠️Important: Before you start, you need to have Collins Pay set up on your system. If you need to set this up, please contact your account manager.

📌Note: This setting is for auto-confirm bookings only. To accept deposits for bookings, you must set up auto-confirm rules and designated areas for this Booking Type.

You can take deposits at the point of booking by following the steps below:

  1. Click Settings, then click Sites, then select the site.

  2. Click Booking Types, then select a booking type.

  3. In Customer Payments, click Add a payment and enter the details.

  4. Set the Type to Payment.

  5. Fill in the fields:

    • Charge per guest, per booking, or per table/area.

      • If you're taking payment for tables/areas, set up the correct table combinations in the joined tables/areas section.

    • For the rules to follow the auto-confirm rules already pre-set in the auto-confirm section, leave the remaining fields blank.

    • If there are specific times, days, or durations when you'd like to take payment, fill out the remaining fields fully.

  6. To add more rules, click Add a payment and follow the steps again.

  7. Click Save.

⚠️Warning: Please be aware that if you want to charge different amounts for different durations, then you will need to set up multiple rules to cover this. For example, if it were £10 per person per hour, you would need a rule for bookings up to one hour as £10 per person, a rule for bookings up to two hours to be £20 per person, and so on.
