The booking widget

The booking widget is an online booking tool added to your website, allowing customers to make reservations directly for your venue.

It can be customised to match your branding and booking needs.

The booking widget lets customers make reservations directly through your website.

It guides them through choosing a date, time, booking type, and any required details, making the booking process quick and seamless for both your venue and your guests.

As an alternative to adding the booking widget to your website, you can use a booking URL.

This link can be shared directly with customers so they can make a booking without needing to navigate through your site.

The second stage of the Access Collins V2 widget is the page where you prompt customers to give their contact details, optionally take payment or allow the customer to add pre-orders to the booking.

You can customize this stage of the widget.

Booking types settings

Booking types in Access Collins define the different experiences, events, or services your venue offers.

They determine how customers book, what information you collect, and how each booking behaves in the system.

Setting up booking types correctly ensures your reservations run smoothly and reflect the unique needs of your venue.

Creating a new booking type in Access Collins allows you to define a specific experience, event, or service your venue offers.

A Private Hire booking type is used for full‑venue or area takeovers, allowing you to manage large‑scale or exclusive events separately from your standard reservations.

Setting up a Private Hire booking type lets you control availability, requirements, and booking rules specifically for these high‑value events, ensuring they are handled smoothly and consistently.

An Auto‑Confirm Only booking type allows customers to instantly secure a reservation without submitting an enquiry.

Because these bookings are automatically confirmed, your team doesn’t need to review or approve them, making the process faster and more seamless for both you and your guests.

This option allows bookings to be automatically confirmed only when they meet your set auto‑confirm rules.

If a request falls outside those rules, it will come through as an enquiry instead.

This gives you control over more complex or exceptional bookings while still streamlining straightforward ones.

If you want to hide a booking type from your booking widget without deleting it, you can archive it.

This removes it from customer view while keeping it available for you to reactivate and use again whenever needed.

🤓Tip: You can also unselect the Can book box from the availability section of each booking type.

Deleting a booking type permanently removes it from your Access Collins setup.

This option is used when a booking type is no longer needed and won’t be used again in the future.

When a booking isn’t auto‑confirming as expected, or is auto‑confirming when it shouldn’t, troubleshooting helps you identify which rule or setting is causing the issue.

By checking your auto‑confirm criteria, booking type settings, and availability rules, you can quickly pinpoint the problem and ensure bookings behave the way you intend.

🤓Tip: Use the test booking type rules function to see why it isn't working as expected.
